The community planning services at Planning and Development Services of Kenton County include three departments: Planning, Zoning Administration and Code Enforcement, and Infrastructure Engineering. Each department specializes in planning and development-related issues essential for the logical development of Kenton County’s communities.
Planning Department
The Planning Department is responsible for creating plans and studies that provide a framework for the future development of Kenton County communities. This includes developing comprehensive plans, conducting specialized planning studies, and engaging with local citizens. The department also handles day-to-day functions such as managing boards of adjustment issues, zoning text and map amendments, and requests for zoning information.
Zoning Administration and Code Enforcement
The Zoning Administration and Code Enforcement Department staff is responsible for reviewing zoning permits and addressing requests for zoning information. Staff is also pursues zoning violations for the jurisdictions that participate in the Kenton County Joint Code Enforcement Board.
Infrastructure Engineering
The Infrastructure Engineering Department is responsible for reviewing all proposed subdivision developments and their compliance with the subdivision regulations for Kenton and Pendleton Counties.
